It has been said that "Leaders are Readers", and I'll be honest, that is not something that causes a slow reading, terrible spelling, dyslexic, Christian leader jump for joy when it's brought to his attention. However, regardless of the many objections and justifications to why this shouldn't apply to me, I saw truth and wisdom in the phrase.
So at the beginning of 2013, I decided to put aside my excuses and give myself the challenge of completing a different book each month. That may sound simple to you, but this was big for me, seeing as up until that point, I had started and finished 4 books... in my life! But to my surprise, the outcome was easier than expected, even enjoyable. In fact, I ended up reading more than one a month!
So I decided to repeat the challenge the next year... and the next and the next. It has been such a blessing not to be held back by excuses. There are so many good books out there.
After ELEVEN YEARS I am now regularly completing 30-40+ books each year, and loving it.
Don't let anything hold you back from the wisdom God richly offers through his body and those who unknowing are being his mouth pieces.
